VISAS AND PASSPORTS
(Please begin this process as soon as possible.)

VISA AND PASSPORT POLICIES

Winner Liaisons & Winners: The process of applying for a visa (visitor visa) involves careful preparation. It is important to present an error free application the first time, since it becomes very difficult, if not impossible, to successfully obtain a visa once an individual has been previously denied a visa. Errors on the visa application process can make one permanently ineligible to visit the U.S. pursuant to a valid visa.

Q – Do I need a Passport from my country prior to securing a visa to attend the Ring of Honor in the United States?
A - Yes! Securing a valid passport from the country you live in is a requirement for securing an entry visa into the United States. Thus you should secure a passport immediately after learning that you are a winner for the Ring of Honor. Visa applications are now subject to a greater degree of scrutiny than in the past and may result in a lengthy process. Your guest also needs to have a valid passport.

Q – What is the general policy for people who wish to obtain visas to come to the United States?
A - For nonimmigrant visas, generally, the applicant will make an appointment at a convenient U.S. Embassy or Consulate and pay the application fee. The applicant will have an interview in-person with a consular officer, who will ask questions and review documentation to determine whether the applicant qualifies for a visa. After the interview, and any necessary administrative processing, if the applicant qualifies the U.S. Embassy or Consulate issues a visa.

Q – Do different United States Embassies and Consulates have different standards for approving visas?
A - No. The procedures for processing visa applications may vary, but the same standards under U.S. law and policy apply at each U.S. Embassy and Consulate where one applies for a visa. Here are web sites that will help you locate the US Embassy in your country.

Q – Do I qualify for an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) and how do I go about getting one?
A - In most countries a valid visa is required. However, in some countries the approval to travel is called an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) and can be secured on line. Please click on the below link to see the countries that qualify for an ESTA and how to go about obtaining one.

REQUESTING A VISA TO ENTER THE UNITED STATES

If the winner resides outside the United States and does not have a valid US Passport, it is most likely that a visa may be required to enter the United States.

Each country has an understanding with the United States regarding the requirement of a visa. Please check to determine if a visa is required for the winner passport.

When a visa is required a letter needs to be created for the winner and their guest to start the visa request in the winner’s country.  CLICK HERE for a template of the visa request letter.

A visa request letter needs to be completed and sent to your Division Representative.  (identified on the “Contact Us” tab)

  1. Begin processing a visa request letter for the winner
    • Insert City where the US consulate is located (in the winner country)  and the country
    • Insert name of the ROH Winner, Nationality, Passport number, Date the passport was issued, Date the passport expires, and date of birth
    • Provide the same information for the winner’s guest. (Customize the letter appropriately to your needs. Many winners bring a son, daughter, mother, or father)
    • Customize the his / her language in the letter
    • The completed visa request should be sent to your Division Representative for review.

The visa request letter will then be forwarded to PepsiCo to be signed by the Ring of Honor PepsiCo Coordinator.
The signed visa request letter will be returned to you via an email with the scanned letter attached.  If an original letter is required, it will be sent to your Division Representative to forward to the winner liaison for the winner.

VISA INTERVIEW PROCESS

Please remember this visa interview is a serious meeting and the winner must convey their purpose for coming to the United States is ONLY for a business meeting.

As a result, we have created a visa interview tutorial which contains information from past years experiences and the US State Department website on the visa interview process.

Once you have gained approval for your interview, this tutorial will be helpful in providing direction on how you should approach the interview, what the US State Department official is seeking to understand and a list of questions and possible answers so you can be as prepared as possible.
